A recent study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association has revealed that if your spouse has high blood pressure, then you are more likely to have it as well. Conducted by researchers at the University of Michigan, Emory University, and Columbia University, the study found that about half of hypertension cases in older adults are shared between partners. These findings present a promising opportunity for couple-based management of the condition, such as joint blood pressure monitoring, attending exercise classes together, and preparing healthy meals together.
