Engaging in regular exercise not only benefits our physical health but also our cognitive function and overall brain health. Improved memory and increased attention span have been associated with exercise including walking, running, and strength training. Exercising raises the heart rate, leading to increased blood flow and oxygen to the brain. Multiple large scale studies have found that exercise reduces the risk of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease. Incorporating exercise into your daily routine can help keep your brain healthy as you age.
