EPA enforces new limits on 'forever chemicals' in drinking water
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued new regulations limiting the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), also known as ‘forever chemicals’, in drinking water. This is the first time the EPA has set enforceable limits on PFAS in drinking water, which have been linked to various health issues, including cancer, thyroid disease, and developmental delays in children. The new standards reflect the EPA’s dedication to safeguarding public health and ensuring safer drinking water for communities across the U.S.
