A new global study published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology has revealed that one in three children is now affected by nearsightedness, or myopia. This rising trend, particularly evident in urban areas, is attributed to increased screen time, reduced outdoor activity, and genetic factors. To help reduce eye strain and dryness, experts recommend taking 20-second breaks every 20 minutes to look at something 20 feet away and focus on relaxing the eyes and blinking. Experts highlight the need for early eye screenings and lifestyle changes to curb the growing epidemic.
