A new study from researchers at Columbia University revealed that psychological stress can indeed cause hair to turn gray, but the surprising discovery is that the process may be reversible. Researchers found that when stress levels are reduced or eliminated, some individuals experience a restoration of their natural hair color. This is the first study to offer quantitative evidence linking stress to graying hair in people and the body’s ability to recover, offering hope for those seeking to combat premature graying.
