The safety of stainless steel cookware

A study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry revealed that stainless steel cookware can in fact leach nickel, but notes these levels are generally safe unless one has specific metal allergies. Stainless steel cookware is versatile, long-lasting, high performing and widely used by home cooks and professional chefs worldwide. For most people, stainless steel cookware poses no significant health risks. However, the researchers advise caution for those with chromium or nickel allergies and suggest alternative cookware options for these individuals.
