While many people may look forward to daylight saving time and the longer evenings that result from it, daylight saving time can have a number of negative effects on health and wellbeing. Numerous research studies have shown that the shift from standard time to daylight saving time disrupts our natural sleep-cycles, leading to increased risk of sleep deprivation, fatigue, and accidents due to impaired alertness. Researchers have highlighted the importance of recognizing the potential adverse effects of daylight saving time and taking the necessary preventative measures to reduce its impact on overall health and wellbeing.
