A new study published in the scientific journal eLife suggests that an imbalance between two essential healthy fats, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, significantly impacts the risk of early death. These fats, which are naturally found in foods including fish, flaxseed, walnuts, and chia seeds, are crucial for maintaining various bodily functions, including inflammation control and cellular health. The study found that a higher ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 can lead to increased health risks and a higher likelihood of premature mortality. This research highlights the importance of dietary balance in these crucial nutrients to enhance longevity and reduce the risk of early death.
