Microwaving plastic has long been a subject of concern due to potential health risks, including the release of harmful chemicals like BPA and phthalates, which can disrupt hormonal functions. Recent research also reveals that heating plastic can release microplastics that damage human cells and cause allergic reactions. Due to these findings, many are opting to avoid microwaving plastic entirely. Experts recommend using glass or ceramic alternatives for safer microwave use and minimizing these risks.
