Ancient human DNA linked to modern diseases
Recent research published in the scientific journal Nature has revealed a link between the DNA of ancient humans and modern neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s. This study involved the sequencing of DNA from the bones of ancient humans to better understand the genetic roots of these diseases. The resulting database is the world’s largest ancient gene bank, providing insights into how ancient genetics might be influencing the prevalence and development of these complex and debilitating diseases in modern times.
