Alcohol overindulgence prematurely ages your brain
Excessive alcohol consumption can prematurely age your brain, with alcohol being a major factor in this process. Regularly drinking more than the recommended limit of alcohol causes brain cells to die, shrinking the brain tissue. Overtime, this damages the brain, leading to worsening memory and ability to think clearly over time, especially if the person drinks too much over many years. This condition is known as alcohol-related brain damage (ARBD). While occasional drinking might seem harmless, overindulgence increases the risk of cognitive decline, memory loss, and increased risk of neurodegenerative diseases.
