Alcohol linked to seven cancer types in the U.S.
A recent study published in the American Cancer Society’s journal, CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians, has revealed that alcohol consumption significantly contributes to multiple types of cancer in the United States. Alcohol was associated with seven cancers: oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, colorectum, female breast, esophageal, and liver. In a single year, about 24,000 cancer deaths and 95,000 cases were linked to alcohol consumption. These findings emphasize the importance of public health awareness and preventive initiatives to reduce alcohol-related cancer incidences.
