A recent study published in the medical journal JAMA suggests that women with endometriosis may have a fourfold higher risk of developing ovarian cancer compared to those without the condition. Endometriosis is a painful disorder where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside it and has long been associated with reproductive challenges. It’s estimated to affect more than 11% of women in the U.S. This new research highlights the importance of early monitoring and personalized medical care for women with endometriosis to potentially mitigate cancer risks.
