Female hair loss can result from a variety of causes, including hormonal changes, genetics, stress, and medical conditions. The most common form is female pattern hair loss (FPHL), also known as androgenetic alopecia, which affects up to 30 million women in the U.S., particularly those in their 40s, 50s, or 60s. Other factors include poor nutrition, certain medications, and excessive styling can contribute to hair loss. Understanding these underlying causes can help women find appropriate treatments to manage and reduce hair loss effectively.
