Possible link between tattoos and malignant lymphoma risk

A new study published in the journal EClinicalMedicine suggests a potential association between tattoos and increased risk of malignant lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. The study’s authors from Lund University in Sweden found a 21% increased risk of malignant lymphoma among individuals who had tattoos, compared to those who did not. The risk remained consistent regardless of tattoo size. However, the researchers caution that these findings are preliminary and emphasize the need for more comprehensive studies to definitively determine the real impact of tattoos on malignant lymphoma risk.
