New FDA regulations require breast density information in mammogram reports
The FDA has recently issued new regulations in the requirements for mammogram facilities, stating that they must now provide breast density information in mammogram reports. This new rule aims to improve breast cancer screening and detection. Numerous studies have found dense breasts to be associated with as much as four times higher risk of breast cancer. This new regulation will lead to newer detection technologies, better quality standards of mammography facilities, and enhanced mammography reports as a result.
