A recent listeria outbreak from contaminated deli meats has led to numerous hospitalizations and two deaths, prompting an urgent recall of Boar’s Head liverwurst and other deli products. Listeriosis, which results from this bacteria, poses significant risks to pregnant women, newborns, the elderly, and those with compromised immune systems. U.S. health authorities recommend discarding affected products and heating other deli meats to 165 degrees F until steaming hot before consumption.
